So much tasty food for the price. I have yet to find a Mexican restuarant in Orlando that I like as much as this place.

I brought my family here on a rainy Sunday just to get out of the house for a bit...so I'm being generous with the stars here. The slower pace of everyone involved from the hostess to the server was actually welcome as we wanted to be out of the house for a bit and they were all pretty friendly, so kudos on the staff. The food? Pretty bland and generic. My fajitas had some boring tomato like sauce on them with no real spice or Mexican seasoning. Even a shake of some fajita seasoning would have been better. My wife's carnitas burrito was just ok. But...the beer was cold and the staff cool. My dollar says go elsewhere next time until their reviews start going back up.

To write and try to explain the lack luster and pathetic attempt we made to give "Little Dos" our patronage won't even do a justice to the DISGUSTING way these owners (who we had the great pleasure of being harassed by) treat their customers. Plain and simple you should be ashamed of yourself. Just pitiful from start to finish. All in all a dive and pretty grimy which I'm always willing to look past (especially when it comes to mexican food) if the food and service is stellar. Nothing like a good "hole in the wall". Not here. I think I'm still in shock as never have I EVER experienced a restaurant handling their own issues SO poorly and unprofessionally. Long story short, we experienced what seems to be the trend at Little Dos with food taking FOREVER, followed by an attempt to cancel our order and pay our drink tab (one round mind you, which when our drinks came were all incorrect), then being harassed by the owner and her daughter (or more like her fight dog) about "not leaving until the food was paid for, because we ordered it and their (precious) ticket said it had only been 20 minutes". HA!! The best part was that after many attempts to cancel the food after waiting over an hour for it, they finally got it to the table, (which we had already been standing up at, wallets out ready to leave for at least 15 minutes) all except for one order, just like the drinks, was wrong. The owners daughter basically threw the plates on the table and demanded that eat or not we were going to pay for the food. Not only did they cause a scene in the middle of the restaurant by getting defensive over their own shortcomings but they treated a paying customer rudely and disrespectfully. A huge no no. Whats that saying? The customer is always right?

These four stars are for our server. Megan was such an amazing, attentive and cheery waitress. Not once did we wait for a drink, utensils, etc. She is genuinely a nice and friendly person and made our experience totally memorable. Food was your usual tex-mex food... Free chips and salsa and I had a chimichanga. Really yummy but I can't say enough about our server!

Bartenders are awesome and very sweet, specials are dirt cheap and my only complaint is the salsa... it's a little weird, not bad just not great. Other than that a great cheap place to start the night off. HEY YOU NEED TO ADD WIRELESS!!!! I'D CHILL THERE FOR HOURS IF YOU GUYS WOULD ADD SOME WIFI! Sorry I do a lot of work while eating dinner, lunch, drinking... until I start getting a good buzz then the laptop gets put away.

We ate the Cantina farther south in IndiaAlantic. Perhaps the one in Satellite Beach has better food? Service was attentive and friendly, however and I could see hanging out there on the deck for a happy hour. Drink specials were very reasonably priced. My husband and daughter did like the chips and salsa. We don't consider ourselves Mexican food experts by any means, but the food here was...meh. I ordered a taco salad with chicken..it was nice plump breast of chicken but had NO.SEASONING at all. Husband had the drunken burrito, declared it "okay" but nothing worth coming back for. We were hoping for a decent "local" mexican joint, but will have to keep looking....

Decent, reasonably priced mexican food. Not great but it "hits the spot" for a reasonably priced mexican lunch or dinner.

I'm a regular @ Dos Amigos in Indialantic. Excellent food, service and atmosphere there. I, along with my two sons (5 & 6) went Dos Amigos Satellite Beach for the first time today after hitting the beach. I have to say, the Satellite Beach location is a step above the Indialantic location in terms of ambiance. The interior is dimly lit and the decorating is very cool. Other than that, the service and food quality matches that of the other locations -- excellent! Also, I may add, the restrooms (at least the mens) are spotless!

Love this place. Great food with decent service. Enchiladas are awesome and chips n salsa are hot and fresh.

  • Chris L.

The first thing you notice when you walk in is the smell. It smells like spoiled retried beans. The food is average at best. They use regular rice instead of Canilla rice (there is a difference). My wife ordered a cheese quesadilla and she got 2 tortillas with cheese inside plus the edges were burnt. It's like they are just cooking in the kitchen without any care. You can't call it tex-mex, it's just American food that looks Mexican. Taco Bell puts more pride into their food than these people.

  • Alex R.

Great drinks, okay food. Very heavy on the cheese. Their "el cheapo" lunch menu justifies an occasional visit though, as do their margaritas (which are great)

    (3)
  • Tim M.

Ask for the hot salsa, which is served by request.

Great food and great atmosphere! Margaritas are delicious! The white queso is my favorite. Highly recommended.

  • Paul K.

The food here is actually really good. It did crack me up that this is supposed to be a Mexican restaurant, when not a single Mexican works here, but the food was still good. Beer was a little more expensive than Big Island Burritos further south, but the food was fresh and you definitely get your money's worth. It has an outdoor patio and TVs in the bar area.

  • James S.

First of all this place should be ashamed of being claiming that it's Mexican food I'm from California and Mexican and that is not authentic Mexican food, the salsa was not freshly prepared it was from the can, everything taste as if it was from the box, the bartender was a bitch, so much that she was even told so. She was rude and all the staff. So this place should get no stars at all.

Glad they are open again under the original owners, same as Lou's. Food is awesome and tasty. Atmosphere is great and great severs, my favorite server Heather is the best!

Worst service every single time. Food was good but after 3 times of TERRIBLE service will not be returning. The last time we waited almost 20 minutes just to get drinks and being CLEARLY ignored by our waitress.

  • Cameron O.

We are regulars at this place but tonight's experience was awful. The chips are now thick and unsalted and are more like pita chips. The skinny girl margaritas were very weak and tasteless. The cherros after dinner were raw and doughy in the middle. Things are going downhill FAST.

  • Matt H.

Great place to go for take out. Just rolled on in and out with two tacos and rice with beans. It was all very good and the staff was very nice. Not bad mexican food for Florida.

    (4)
  • Sandy C.

I'm from the west coast and this was not what I was expecting at all. My plate was covered with cheese as if were a plate of nachos. Salsa tasted like it may have come from a jar. Although the white queso dip was pretty tasty. As was the beer. Maybe less cheese (or none at all) on everything and frying up their own taco shells would improve my rating.

    (2)
  • Josh D.

Fast service and friendly staff. Food is average at best, I have been to California many times and this is NOT California style Mexican food. I'd like to see some quality fish tacos and carne asada added to the menu.

  • Nate S.

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. They messed up our order and it took forever to get our food. After we finally got our food no one ever said sorry for messing up our order and taking forever to get it. The food wasn't that great anyway. My family and I will not be returning to this restaurant ever!

  • Amy H.

Cantina Dos is in walkable distance from my Uncle's place, so I came here twice during my visit. The margarita was a little salty for my taste, but they did no tskimp on the tequila and it was otherwise very good. The salsa was meh - tasted like they got it out of a jar! The service was fast and friendly I enjoyed my spinach and cheese quesadilla. I look forward to returning when I visit again!

Not sure what happened to Dos Amigos. It use to have good Mexican. I'm not sure what it is they serve but definitely not Mexican or any variant. I've been to to every corner of Mexico and even Tex-Mex which I hate is better won't be back..

  • G P.

Love the salsa, some of the very best I've ever tasted. Great chips, homemade. But go for the fish tacos...always fresh. They also have an amazing selection of tequila and make a killer 'Rita". Great vibe!

  • MOna J.

The only thing I would ever eat here again is the fish tacos. EVERYTHING ELSE IS GROSS. I don't understand the use of flour tortillas. I ordered a tostada it was so soggy, I couldn't stomach it. If you order dessert I've also noticed that they do not bring the churro that's included in your meal. I really wanted my basket of churro and my ice cream after being disgusted by the soggy food.

It's okay, I moved out of Satellite Beach but recently revisited little dos with some friends. Quality of ingredients has taken a hit... but for the price, I'm not sure how much complaining can really be done.

I would not dine at Cantina Dos Amigos again. We were in the area on vacation, which made the experience more disappointing, given the time restraints we were working with when trying to sample the local food. I don't write many harsh reviews, but this was just plain bad. First: the good. Our margaritas were tasty and they did not skimp on the tequila. Our server was nice. Not necessarily attentive, but nice. The restaurant seemed clean, and spacious. They had a nice outdoor dining area, but it was a little close to the road for us, so we ate inside. Now, for the bad. The worst thing about the place was the food. We are used to very good, authentic Mexican food. I suppose, because of that, I may be judging them harshly, but there is really no reason to cover every plate of food in a thick membrane of shredded cheese (American, Mexican, whatever type of cuisine it is, there is no reason.) It was not melty, either. It sat long enough to harden. I've never been presented with a plate of Mexican food with that much cheese all over it. My boyfriend ordered Chicken Tacos with the rice and beans (all items covered in cheese) and I ordered the Baja plate, which was rice and beans with fresh grilled vegetables, with everything covered in cheese (why the rice, too? why?) That was the most glaring sign that we'd made the wrong choice. Perhaps they were catering to an audience that likes more cheese and less flavor, but whatever it was, it was not Mexican food. The flavors were bland, the salsa tasted like the most mild of grocery store brands, and the crunchy tortilla shells definitely tasted like boxed. The rice was dry and flavorless, and room temperature. The chips were cold. I believe a churro came with our meals, but we skipped it, after we had set aside our mostly still full plates. We did not box any leftovers. We spent about $30 plus tip on two lunch plates and two margaritas. Money not well spent, but at least it wasn't an outrageous amount. I would not recommend this place if you are looking for good Mexican food. It's definitely NOT Mexican food, and it's not even good food.

EXCELLENT Mexican food 20 minutes south of Cocoa Beach. The portions are huge and the prices are excellent. They have lots of specials/deals. It's a fun, great place to come eat Mexican after a day on the beach.

We are new to the area and came here strictly based on the Yelp reviews and stars. Turns out it was pretty good, although the meat on the fajitas was tough, tough, tough. I'd have probably given the place 5 stars were it not for the meat. Anyway, there's not much seating here but we were lucky enough to get in during a lull and were seated immediately. We were seated in the booth next to the hallway to the bathroom, which was also next to the door, which was also next to where the servers came out from the kitchen with their full trays of food. I was mortified one of them might stumble and dump one of the trays onto us. But we made it through without an incident. We had to deal with the folks coming out of the kitchen, folks coming in the door and going to the bathroom but it wasn't too much of a distraction. Of course, it probably helped that I was starving! Anyway, a great place to eat but funny thing is, there were no Mexicans at this Mexican restaurant.

I am always very sceptical of trying Mexican restaurants since my taste is more the Arizona, California style. Service was a little slow at first. The chips and salsa were ok, not spicy enough for me so next time I will have to ask for spicer. My daughter 7 loved the kids bean and cheese nachos. Big portion. Kids menu is good price. I ordered the shrimp enchiladas with rice and beans. The enchiladas were flavored well. The beans were good but the rice was awful. Overall it was average food.

Eaten here 4 times now, best Mexican food I've experienced in a long time. When I say Mexican of course I mean the Mexican food along the lines of Don Pablo's. The cheese dip (yellow) has all sorts of flavor, and the Caesar dishes are good enough to bring home to mom. Throw in the reasonable prices and a wait staff that is eager to please (and the awkward yet fun decor) and you have all the ingredients for a freaking sweet Tex-Mex outing.

The Indialantic location is better! I won't even go to this location anymore. The service is usually ok, and the el cheapo menu is a good value. However, the food quality has really declined, including salsa that went from fresh to tasting like ketchup (I've dined here about 6-8 times since they opened) and lately the music is always REALLY LOUD, CRAPPY 80's music. Not the good stuff from the 80's, but the crap you hated even then. Maybe its just me, but I would expect a Cali-Mexican place on the beach to have Mexican or more laid back beachy music, which it did initially. Then one visit we experienced the hellish, LOUD 80's garbage. Figuring it was just our bad luck, I sucked it up and promptly forgot about it after we left. Much to our disgust, the next time we dined there it was playing again. I figured the el cheapo night was also the el crapo 80's music night, so made it a point to go on a different night for the next visit. Guess what? The same music. I asked the server what the deal was and how he was able to stand it. He rolled his eyes and said it was the bartender's choice and he couldn't do anything about it. I told him to tell the bartender that not only were the drinks watered down but the music killed my desire to continue to eat there. I can put up with a lot if the location and music are good, including sub-par food and watered down drinks. However, despite the nice atmosphere here, the torturous, blaring crap finally killed this place for me.

While there is ample parking here, the lunch crowd can be large, and the food leaving the kitchen can be very slow. The look and feel of the place is great, if you like living in Jimmy Buffet songs. Food quality is average American-Mexican, where everything is smothered in cheese. The El Cheapo menu gains high marks for meal prices, very reasonable. The free chips and salsa is nice. Don't expect a quick lunch however. I have been here at least 6 times, and every single time (regardless of what I have ordered), my lunch has averaged 1.5hrs. This doesn't seem to matter if I am eating with two or seven other people. Not the best place for a weekday lunch during normal lunch hours. Update: I recently ate here for a weekday dinner. The service was great, and the prep time was quick. The food was good and fresh. So while I might harp on the place not being that great during a crowded lunch hour, it succeeds for dinner!

  • Meg K.

I have been to both locations now, and I'm impressed with the quality and quantity of food, the service, and the specials. Had shrimp fajitas at the Satellite Beach location most recently, and they were cooked to perfection. It's no frills, for sure. But it's a good time, great food, at very reasonable prices.

    (5)
  • J C.

They have the El Cheapo menu for lunch which is good. We used to go here very often and have always left happy until the last few times they got our orders wrong. We just live a couple miles away but now we go to the Cantina Dos Amigos in Indialantic. It is much better than this place.

We've been here twice now for the dinner service and Little Dos has quickly become one of our favorite places to go in Brevard! You can't miss the $10.00 Fajitas or the $4.00 32 oz. Margaritas on Fridays! The food is beyond amazing (especially the churros), the staff is friendly and accomodating, and the prices are unbeatable for the portions you receive!

If you like real authentic Mexican food keep on trucking, this is not it. Came here yesterday evening and ordered the white queso, steak chimichanga, and my bf had the steak taco meal which was suppose to come with rice and refried beans instead it came with refried beans and black beans no rice. Hes currently suffering with the stomach bubbles. The queso was pretty good but lets be real if you fail on melting white cheese theres an issue. My chimichanga... had wilted lettuce on top of it and when i bit into it the pieces of steak were chunky n gummy. The churros were delicious n the pina colada was good. The margaritas? A big NEGATIVE. This area is beautiful but lacks restaurant choices so people land at this spot. Use yelp drive more into cocoa. Btw I'm Hispanic n lived in Chicago my whole life and lets just say i rather go to chipotle.

I like Little Dos better than the place in Melbourne Beach Dos Amigos. It's not as loud here and is much smaller. The food is consistently good. They'll substitute black beans for meat on any dish. They have these really cool surf boards hanging on ye ceiling above the bar. We always go on Sunday evenings when they have $5 appetizers which are big enough for a meal!

  • Lauren J.

This place offers consistently bad food. I'm a food lover and this place falls short after many attempts. It's American Mexican done badly. Not fresh veggies, incredibly dry rice, chicken fajitas that seem to be soaked in tomato paste.... After that there is the poor service. Ignored for long periods wether at the bar or at a table and this review is after several visits, hoping it would be good because it's close. Long story short, Taco Bell is better, seriously.

Had a great dinner here last night, spicy food good beer and margaritas and cheap! What more can you ask for?

By far the best Mexican food in Brevard county. Love this place . The staff is always happy and helpful. You can tell the management makes this a fun place to work.

  • Wesley S.

I can't believe no one has reviewed this yet. It was previously called dos amigos but it would appear they have changed the name in order for people to not get it confused with the bigger restaurant up the street. I used to live here and love this place. This is one of my favorite restaurants beachside and this and the Alamo top my list of Brevard county Mexican joints. I recommend the spicy guacamole and the drunken burrito. These two have never let me down in many many years. The margaritas are great too! Thanks for reading and enjoy!

Well....I don't write many poor reviews, but this restaurant is getting one. Salsa, which is very easy to make great, tasted like ketchup...we asked for spicy salsa, and they brought out the old salsa with more onions. My son ordered steak fajitas, he gave up on the steak halfway through and resorted to tortillas and rice to fill up. My other son's chicken tacos were very good, he gobbled them up. We had yellow queso and white queso highly recommend the white queso..yellow case quite questionable. They had a four dollar special on 32 ounce margaritas, 99% sure they were simply margarita mix and no tequila. I had steak enchiladas, the steak pieces were large and chunky and chewy. I ate it all, but I was hungry so I needed it. My wife had the drunkin burrito, which she said was good. We had the fried ice cream for dessert, and churros, churros were fantastic, fried ice cream was ok. All in, I was disappointed.

I've been twice and have thought the beef tacos were really good. One time the service was good and the other time, it was fairly slow. I like the atmosphere on the patio, very lively

On the hunt for good mexican food- keep looking. Service was terrible- we only saw our server for ordering, dropping off food and the check- had to ask for a chip refill (4 people, 1 basket) and gave up on getting more water 1/2 way through my meal. Rice is from a package mix, more Santa Fe than Mexican. Chicken tacos were good, refried beans were good but Carne Asada burrito was filled with so many veggies and very little meat.

  • Penny H.

Liked the big margaritas and the $4 special price was good. That is as far as it went. $10 fajita special....flavorless!! Big burrito....could only eat about a quarter of it because it was horrible. These people can not even make decent retried beans. Maybe they were trying to make bean soup??

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
